JOB DESCRIPTION :
We are seeking a Senior QA Tester for Canadian public sector projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participating in functional and technical design reviews;
- Working other internal and external resources to ensure that the requirements for developing software applications are clear, unambiguous, complete, and measurable;
- Actively participate in all Scrum events performed in Agile environments;
- Analyzing requirements to identify test conditions;
- Designing and creating detailed test cases based on test basis and test conditions;
- Preparing test environments and test data for different test scenarios;
- Helping evaluate the work of other team members by using peer review technique;
- Executing functional, non-functional and regression testing using appropriate testing
types, techniques and tools; - Management of the defect life cycle that include:
- Raised defects with all relevant information;
- Triage defects with the team;
- Track defect resolution; and
- Perform confirmation tests.
- Designing, creating and maintaining automated regression test suites;
- Preparing and sharing test reports;
- Collaborating with developers to assess accessibility of products by using different
software tools as well as manually; - Investigating problems and opportunities in existing processes, and recommending
solutions; and - Managing walkthroughs and reviews related to testing and implementation readiness.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
- Post-secondary education mandatory.
- More than ten (10) years' experience as a QA Tester.
- Experience in artificial intelligence (AI), specifically Claude Code.
- Experience designing and creating detailed test cases based on acceptance criteria from user stories or other requirements.
- Experience in conducting all the following types of testing:
- Functional testing,
- non-functional testing and
- regression testing.
- Experience with data management of the defect life cycle, including
- Raising defects;
- Triage defects;
- Tracking defect resolution; and
- Performing confirmation tests.
- Experience in designing, creating, and maintaining automated regression test suites.
- Documentation, insights and presentation of actionable recommendations.
- Applying research ethics, data privacy, accessibility, and inclusive lenses to all stages of activities.
- Experience working in Agile product team environments.
- Spoken and written English required.
- Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability) and former public sector work experience an asset.
